About Julie Rose

Creating her first pair of earrings at age 6, Julie Rose has been making and selling her handcrafted jewelry, gifts and accessories ever since. After time spent at a makeshift workbench, and a few basic courses, Julie studied Fine Arts at University of Colorado at Boulder (CU), and graduated from SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology/NYC with a Degree in Jewelry Arts. Her education at FIT was instrumental in her pursuit of a career combining her love of jewelry, art and fashion.

Julie has been successfully self-employed as an artist/entrepreneur for more than 20 years. Her many accomplishments include selling her handcrafted works to department stores worldwide, seeing her accessories featured in major fashion magazines and participating in many trunk shows and personal appearances. She has also enjoyed teaching at the prestigious Parsons School of Design/NYC-Fashion Avenue Campus and volunteering with at risk youth to encourage them to explore and develop their creative spirit.

Julie Rose currently resides in Tucson, AZ, which enables her to work outside year round. She travels extensively allowing her to stay aware of ever-changing trends and to continue to feel part of this high energy world we live in.

Information about the purse: I have been working on the handbag designs for a few years. I now have the frames manufactured overseas to my design specifications and the finishing and embellishment is done by me here in Tucson. The handbag I made for you is Faux Leather, embellished with a Vintage Brass piece with a repurposed western-style concho with handset Swarovski Crystals. This matches the conchos used on the shoes.

My inspiration was to make something that represents my upscale Santa Fe style aesthetic. I wanted to do something different from the many hand-painted designs I saw that had been done in the past. I have many other styles and designs available on my website at www.julierose.com. I was referred to this opportunity through the Tucson Museum of Art, where my Jewelry and Accessories are sold in the gift shop,
