Two Unique Wines from The "cellar of Belly"
From Liz Vilardi, memory preserver and wine educator extraordinaire and Nick Zappia, partner in Boston's Craigie Burger, and from the "cellar of Belly", come two delicious, drinkable now, but absolutely cellar-able for at least 10 more years bottles from Italy.
Both bottles are the same vintage, 2014. So these two have a good six years on 'em. One is from the wonderful, northern biodynamic vineyard of Alois Lageder in the Alto Adige, 100% Pinot Nero. The other hails from the amazing Dora Forsoni in Central Italy in Tuscany, specifically Montepulciano. This is Vino Nobile which is Prugnolo Gentile (aka Sangiovese's biotype here), Caniolo and Mammolo. Production is incredibly small for these guys when you consider world-wide distribution. Only 8,000 bottles of Krafuss were made and around 9,500 of Sanguineto. They are both sold out, and would have to be purchased at auction to acquire.
