Learn how to compost in a private class with Denver Audubon's Conservation Coordinator, Suzy Hiskey, and collect your kitchen scraps in a new stainless steel compost bin.
1.5 hour composting consultation class at your home for up to 8 participants; includes additional 30min garden consultation for the host and a kitchen compost collection container.
Compost is helpful for growing plants, improving soil health, and reducing waste from your home. You and your friends will learn about the various microorganisms that make good compost, the materials and proportions you need, and three main ways to create great compost: cold compost, hot compost and vermicompost.
Keep vegetable scraps and eggshells out of the landfill with this 1.8 gallon stainless steel compost bin. The charcoal filter absorbs odors, so you won't even know it's there. You can transfer the scraps to your local compost facility, or contribute to a backyard system with ease! Best of all, the sleek stainless steel design blends into any kitchen decor.
Class should be arranged June 29th - August 30, 2021. Home must be located within the 7 Metro-counties of Denver, Douglas, Boulder, Arapahoe, Adams, Jeffco and Broomfield.
Certificate for this item will be mailed/emailed to winner.
