Dewane Frutiger, together with his wife Pam Frutiger, are our guests of honor at the 2020 Fine Arts Ball. Dewane was raised in South Mills, NC and has been a resident of Pitt County for thirty-eight years. He holds both B.A. and M.A. (Clinical Psychology) degrees from ECU, and a Master's in Public Health Administration from UNC-CH. He retired from ECU in 2003 after a thirty-year career as Director of the Developmental Evaluation Clinic in the Dept. of Pediatrics. He is a Licensed Psychological Associate in North Carolina. Dewane and Pam founded the local business, ASAP Photo & Camera, Inc. over two decades ago. Dewane is a photographic artist and since 1985 has had seven, one-man exhibitions of his work across Eastern NC. He is past president of the GMoA Board of Trustees and President of the Friends of Photography of GMoA. His photography emphasizes landscape and nature. Images are often highlighted by the serendipity, metaphor, and unusualness that occurs within our world, whether naturally, or created by the hand of man.
House on Fire is one of the more spectacular ruins occupied by the Anasazi Indians between 500 AD and 1500 AD. This dwelling was built beneath this mountain cleft and the striated rock formation above the dwelling appears as flames at certain time of day.
