Two 16 oz. bottles of Maple Syrup with crate; plus a Private Tour for up to 10 people (children welcome!) to see how this local syrup is made. Location of the Farm Tour: Clayhill Farm and Forest. The farm tour will include all aspects of making maple syrup from tapping to tasting. See how trees are tapped and sap is collected. Then back to the boiler room, learn what it takes to make the sap into pure maple syrup prepared for bottling, storage, or fresh use. Taste fresh, warm syrup right out of the boiler! Experience how the flavor changes throughout the syrup season and taste samples from various times of the season. Learn benefits and uses of pure maple syrup. The syrup season usually begins mid-March and runs 4 to 6 weeks and is totally weather dependent. It starts as daytime temperatures reach about 40°F and ends when it does not regularly freeze at night.
