The top is made from a reclaimed floor board that has seen over 200 years of use. The legs are Hemlock and were carved with a drawknife by hand on an old Shaving horse.

The finish is a simple antique flat finish. The highlight is the Butterfly Patch made from Curley Maple and solidifies the piece to prevent any more cracking. The Difference of a lighter wood choice makes the patch stand out and celebrates the detail of imperfection. This joint is strong and visible. The Patch is symbolic of the work that Boys Town does; things that are cracked or broken can be fixed and come out stronger and better on the other side.
