"A-Ha came about through an earworm and an early morning walk with my own dog. I've always been a fan of '80s music. Incorporating this pup into the visual style of the 'Take on Me' video seemed a natural, fun fit. The idea of bringing out what is inside the confines of a frame or drawing to play is compelling, and the execution of making an idea in your head a real, tangible thing is always my favorite part of creation. Making this piece allowed me to watch the video several times and practice singing along. Although I'll never reach that super-high note, I'lI grimace politely as others attempt it and keep singing loud and proud in the privacy of my car with my hound on backup vocals."

- First-time Magnificent Beasts artist Emily doesn't have a preferred medium but will use what is needed to convey a concept or to tell a joke. Approaching creation more playfully has yielded a lot of fun and fostered a connection to others that is rewarding and sustaining to this self-described "maker of things."
