Kindergarten Class Project for Live Auction

The Kindergartners participated in almost all aspects of making the table. The table and base were donated by American Furniture Warehouse. Our students helped to assemble the legs of the table, and did most of the work painting the table. The base of the table top is glass with Yupo paper glued on top of the glass. The children dropped colored alcohol inks and metallic alcohol ink on the paper and manipulated it with a hair dryer to make the paint move around the paper.

After the paint was dry, Mrs. Huber (classroom volunteer) sprayed it with a few layers of varnish especially made for artwork, and then sprayed a few layers of UV clear coat to keep the artwork from fading over time. Once the varnishes were dry, she put two coats of ArtResin to seal and harden the children's painting.
