Love the outdoors? This is the trip for you! Avid outdoorsmen, Neil Struby and Karl Kortemeier, will take you and a guest on a guided, overnight backpacking and fishing trip in the North Georgia Mountains. Everyone will hike in together, and Karl and Neil will take care of the rest (setting up camp, preparing meals, providing all fishing gear and instruction). Trip can be customized based on level of experience.

About Neil Struby:

Neil Struby founded his home renovation company in 2003 after working as a mechanical engineer, designing large heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for hospitals and colleges. Struby Construction has been recognized with customer service and project quality awards from Guild Quality, Certified Professional Home Builders of Georgia, EarthCraft and others.

Neil holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University. He is a Master Scuba Diver with specialties in night diving, deep diving, wreck diving, underwater navigation, enriched air, and search & rescue diving. He has climbed Devils Tower, Wyoming and all three Teton Mountains - Grand, Middle and South and also survived a mini avalanche when climbing Winter Summit of Mount Washington, New Hampshire. Neil is an Eagle Scout and has competed in over 10, 24-hour+ adventure races, more than 20 marathons and 4 Iron Man triathlons (and still counting...!)

About Karl Kortemeier:

Karl Kortemeier joined Struby Construction as Project Manager in 2012. A NARA-certified lead carpenter, Karl's role is to manage the day-to-day operations of projects - overseeing subcontractors, assuring craftsmanship, troubleshooting the unexpected and communicating with homeowners so that they have a clear understanding about the status of their project.

Karl graduated from the University of Georgia where he studied Anthropology. Prior to turning his passion for woodworking into a career, Karl and his brother, Keith, started the Jittery Joe's Coffee franchise in Athens, Ga. in 1994. He later launched a fly-fishing business in Athens, which he ran for three years. An experienced outdoorsman and Eagle Scout, Karl has worked as a fishing guide in Alaska and the Bahamas, fought fires in the Everglades and out West as a member of an US Forest Service Hotshot Firefighter Crew, and explored caves in Alabama and Georgia. He enjoys archery, writing and runs a cottage knife making and sharpening business out of his Decatur, GA workshop.
