Bill Bangham is a photojournalist, writer and editor living near Richmond, Virginia. he has worked in over 70 countries. His assignments include: Children exposed to radiation by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster; street people of India; war windows of Sierra Leone; Balkan conflicts in Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, and Kosovo; Iraq; Arab Spring; the first nations people in the United States and Brazil; and the Panama invasion. he was on the staff of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention for 20 years, where he served as editor-in-chief for theCOMMISSION magazine, for which he was the founding editor. Before that he was editor of World Mission Journal, and associate editor of MissionsUSA magazines.

During his tenure at the IMB, he was founder of The Academy, an institute for advanced communication arts and strategy. He is also co-founder of ABRO (American Belarusian Relief Organization), which has worked with over 12,000 children exposed to radiation from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

He retired from the IMB in 2015, and is now teaching, speaking, taking occasional assignments, and working on personal projects.

His work in photography, writing, editing and design has been rocognized with major awards in both secular and religious competitions. They include Pictures of the Year international and the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism awards.
