" In this artwork, as in all of my work, I want to share positive and inspirational thoughts. I use angels as they are sometimes perceived as guardians, as lucky, and as messengers, while they create an endless range of visual possibilities. "Protection" is a statement piece about guardianship of the earth. As we sometimes hear the expression, 'four corners of the earth,' I created the angels coming in from the four corners of the page. To make the artwork more intriguing, I drew the angels from the back view as opposed to the front view. Themes of the four seasons are depicted on their wings and hair. This creates an intricate pattern of shapes and colors that persuades the viewer to explore each angel further. A beam comes from the crown of each one toward the earth as they focus their energies of peace and protection on our planet. The overall pattern creates a heart shape symbolizing their love for the earth. "Protection" has great relevance today as we see how mankind is affecting the world we live in. I spared no expense in carefully selecting the custom matting and white framing to compliment the picture and carry out it's theme. The framed piece measures 21 inches square. It is my honor to gift the original of this very special creation to Olivia's House for the Gala silent auction. This exceptional organization will always have a place in my heart as a force for the good. It also is an original - there is no place like it.
