Pre-adolescents in today's society face many more challenges than their parents did at similar ages. They are bombarded with information and media that their young minds may not be adequately prepared for. Psychological research indicates mindfulness meditation is a helpful coping tool that can benefit all children
maintain a sense of emotional and behavioral stability in these times.
Ascher Levy is a psychologist who has worked primarily with children and adolescents throughout his practice, and would like to share this coping strategy with your children. He recently completed training in leading mindfulness workshops for children and adolescents.
In this workshop, he will lead a discussion about what mindfulness meditation is, how it can help them in their current lives, and also be a useful tool
when they enter adolescence. We will also practice several age-appropriate meditations and discuss these experiences, and students will leave with resources to continue a mindfulness practice on their own.
