110This books is a comprehensive compilation of the student artwork completed in preparation for Parkside's 2020 Spring Benefit. Each student's collage is featured on it's own page, along with a quote from your child about the work they did to create their artwork. It includes artwork and quotes from every student at Parkside!
Student on the 3rd floor learned about artist Wassily Kandinsky and looked at his painting "Several Circles" for inspiration. Next, each class created their own collage paper by mixing either different warm or cool colors and painting several different pieces of paper. I cut out many different sizes of circles from the paper students created. Then students arranged the circles on their square and glued then on. Last, I interview each student and we talked about their favorite colors, favorite part of their work and the project and let them describe their work.
Students on the 4th and 5th floor chose an animal for their collages. Each class created their own collage paper by mixing either different warm or cool colors and painting several different pieces of paper. Next, students cut out the shape of their animal and details using the different color paper they created. Students glued everything on and added a background. Last, I interview each student and where we talked about their favorite part of the project, favorite part of their collage and let them describe their work.
Special thanks to Ms. Casas for facilitating this art project with the students, and to Dot Cates for compiling this book.
Simon says this is book is a must-have for all Parkside families! (Simon is Mr. Kapp's dachshund)
