Add this lot of French Wines to the cellar? Oui! This collection includes six wines, briefly described below, gifted by Robert and Sue Savage.

Clos du Mont Olivet Cotes du Rhone, 2016

A Côtes du Rhône with serious terroir credentials. Selected from vineyards (planted in the 1950s) that boast classic Châteauneuf soils (galets roulés, sand, marl), this wine shows the depth and complexity of a refined Châteauneuf while showcasing lively, summer-ripe fruit and spices.

Pierre Gaillard Saint Joseph, 2015

Expect layers of pure, fleshy blackberry fruit tempered by fine tannins and ample brightness. The 2015 Saint Joseph is peppery and meaty, with plenty of earthy, spicy nuances, medium to full-bodied richness and sweet tannin. It's a rock-solid St Joseph to enjoy over the coming 8-10 years.

Pierre Gaillard Crozes Hermitage, 2015

Good color, well-structured, deep and fruity. Vineyard absorbs warmth resulting in admiral expression of the Syrah grape variety. Aged in fiber or oak casks that offers finesse, conserving at the same time the fruity flavors.

Chateau Labat, 2012

Bordeaux Blend, at its most basic, is any combination of those grape varieties typically used to make the red wines of Bordeaux. Red Bordeaux Blends are known for their powerful structure and deep flavors. Dark fruits and berries such as plum and blackcurrant are commonly used to describe the flavors of red Bordeaux, although there is an unlimited range of terms that have been ascribed to them. Tannins tend to be relatively high in these wines, giving them a firm structure.

Chateau d'Angles La Clape, 2012

Deep red color with hints of black. Complex bouquet with a blend of ripe red and black fruits, spices, licorice and tobacco flavors highlighted by the typical minty touch of La Clape. Full-bodied and elegant mouth structured by dense and remarkably silky tannins. Great length endowed with a nice freshness.

Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme, 2012

A beautiful Bordeaux with layers of complexity and flavor. Ripe black plums, cassis, spice, and firm tannins on the dry finish. Cedar, graphite, dried herbs and silky black fruit are all balanced with medium acidity, smooth tannins, and well-integrated alcohol.
