Michael Brady's paintings are best described as abstract impressionism. They reflects nature and the outdoors he experienced growing up in the Black Hills of South Dakota as the son of a trapper who shared his love of nature with Michael. The incredible sunrises and sunsets in the mountains, the milky way and the northern lights at night
all impacted his perceptions.
This year's item entitled, "Faith," is a 30" x 48" acrylic painting on canvas.
Educated in Architecture at Texas Tech, he once again experienced incredible sunsets and sunrises where the sun rose up from the prairie and then dissolved straight into the ground of west Texas. It was here that he learned that building design is basically an abstraction of man's place to live and function.
Michael moved to East Tennessee in in 1978, founded a very successful Architecture and Engineering firm in 1990 that he lead until 2015 when he was able to put all of his focus into art. His architecture projects include the Home & Garden Television Network, Crown College, Rhea County HS. and Harry Potter's Diagon Alley at Universal Studios to name just a few of the over 5,000 projects his firm handled.
His art work is currently on display at York & Friends Gallery in Nashville, LIz-Beth Gallery in Knoxville, Palladio Interiors in Memphis and numerous corporate offices thru out the Chattanooga area. He has a yearly showing in Knoxville at Lakeside Tavern. He has been a jury selected artist for numerous shows by the Association for Visual Arts in Chattanooga.
Michael is passionate about bringing nature, emotion and a positive joy of life to his
work, with strong expressions of color thru the abstraction of space and time.
