This is one of my crowd paintings done to represent the one in four women who are victims of domestic violence. Each mark and brushstroke represents one person's life. The white figures are the one in four victims. There are around 3,000 people in this crowd. The overwhelming presence of white figures really highlights how many victims of domestic violence live among us. Dimension of Piece (Inches): 18x24
Artist Bio: My current work is influenced both by my love for nature and my love for people. I am based in Charlotte, NC and create both oil and acrylic paintings. After receiving a Bachelors degree in Fine Art from Western Carolina University, I helped facilitate an artist residency program off the coast of Maine with established NYC-based artists. Since then, I have had a career in nonprofit work and have merged my passion for vulnerable populations and art through my crowd paintings. I am also inspired by the powerful beauty of nature and capturing the essence of nature on the canvas. When others view my work, I want to inspire emotions and thought.
The impact you can make with a $300 bid: 3 nights of hotel access for a survivor and their children in imminent danger.
