Artist Bio: Melissa Herriott, a self-taught artist from Western New York, has called Charlotte, NC home since 2003. Her favorite mediums are acrylic and ink... and she uses gold any and everywhere she can! While she appreciates realism in art, she gravitates towards the abstract. Her hope is to make you FEEL something when you look at her work. Even if that's just a bit happier, or, more curious than you were the moment before. What Melissa loves about art is the process. The love poured into creating. The failed attempts. The frustration. Elation. The deliberation. She believes that art speaks to places deep inside of all of us that can't always be reached with words.
