"My Promise" is an encaustic painting on a birch panel with gold leaf edges. Encaustic paint is a combination of beeswax, demar resin and natural pigments; painted while molten, each layer is fused with a torch. This painting symbolizes our promise we make to ourselves and our families and is a reminder of what we all deserve.

Nests are a symbol of love, warmth and commitment to build a happy home for ourselves and our loved ones.

Feathers are a symbol of freedom, flight, spirituality, heaven and angels. They are fragile but they can be rebuilt.

Artist Bio: Lynne Miller's work has been featured in several galleries, shows, magazines, and charity auctions. She was a grant recipient from the Arts and Science Council as one of Charlotte's Community Supported Artists in 2018. She is drawn to the natural elements of encaustic painting and uses a torch as her brush. The play of light, layering and delicate veining is the essence of the flowers and trees that inspire her work. Lynne's goal is to allow you as the viewer to get lost in the detail, subtle layers of color, texture and light.
