For three decades, Meredith Lippman (1952-2015) dedicated herself to the arts of Jersey City and Hudson County. She was admired for her artistic curiosity and willingness to learn. As a teacher, advocate, mentor, and unifier in the arts community, Meredith's impact on local arts organizations and individual artists was widespread. She served as President of Pro Arts Jersey City, played a key role at the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs as Program Development Specialist, and was instrumental in finding Nimbus Dance's first full-time home studio.

In part due to Meredith's advocacy, under construction today is the Nimbus Arts Center at the Lively, a new arts center in Jersey City's Powerhouse Arts District that will serve performing artists, visual artists, and thousands of local youth. A long time supporter of Nimbus, Meredith Lippman's estate is generously donating the proceeds of the sale of Meredith's paintings to Nimbus.

The Nimbus Arts Center will open in early 2020. In recognition of Meredith's lifelong contributions to the arts in Jersey City, Nimbus hopes to commemorate Meredith by naming a gallery space for her. We have raised almost half of our goal of $30,000 to permanently honor Meredith's impact on the community with the Meredith Lippman Gallery. Please consider purchasing one of the few remaining paintings or making a donation to help us reach our goal and commemorate Meredith Lippman in the community she served so selflessly.
