Intarsia is a woodworking technique that uses varied shapes, sizes, and species of wood fitted together to create a mosaic-like picture when an illusion of depth.


intarsia is created through the selection of different types of wood, using their natural grain pattern and color to create variations in the pattern. The wood is not stained. After selecting the specific woods to be used within the pattern, each piece is then individually cut, shaped sanded and vanished.

Wood used in this project are Yellow Heart, Pine, Aspen, African Movingui and Pruvian Walnut.


**Please note that this item will need to be picked up by purchaser. Pickup will be held at Carpenter Nature Center (12805 Saint Croix Trail South in Hastings, MN) beginning on Monday, September 14 at 12pm.**
