Mission Project #1

Food for Indigenous School Children

Khairahani, Nepal

The Chepang tribe of central and southern Nepal is in the most remote area of the country. Because of this, the population has been marginalized. Often characterized as the poorest of Nepal's poor, they live in remote settlements in the high hills and forests. The children have little opportunity for education past the elementary grades. With the support of their Bishop, the Priests of the Little Flower Congregation have operated a school and boarding hostel for 250 of these children for over 25 years. The children reside there during the school year and receive their food, clothing, books, medicine, room and board for free. The financial burden to accomplish the priests' work is immense, and donations have been dwindling. With $10,000, this school can give these children a real chance at breaking the poverty cycle and having hopeful futures. God will richly bless you for helping His children!
