About the Artist
Kenna was born in Widnes, Lancashire, England. Currently residing in Seattle, Washington, he is a renowned photographer and the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the Special Photographer Award, Higa-shikawa, Hokkaido, Japan (2016); Chavelier of the Order of Arts and Letters, Ministry of Culture, Paris, France (2000); Art in Public Buildings Award, California Arts Council Commission, Sacramento, California (1987); Imo-gen Cunningham Award, San Francisco, California (1981). Kenna attended the London College of Printing and the Banbury School of Art in Oxfordshire, England. He received an honorary M.A. from the Brooks Institute, Santa Barbara, California, in 2013. His work has appeared extensively in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, and in numerous publications over the past three decades.
