About the Piece
"Shades of X-ray" was shot with medium format film during a visit to Chanticleer Garden in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The fluorescent colored frame works in tandem with the film, lending itself to the theme as a resemblance of shades within an x-ray. The original film was developed and scanned in California, then printed and framed in Germany.

About the Artist
With more than fifteen years of experience in both digital and analog photography, You Wu sees the world of landscape architecture through an artistic lens. Growing up in a multi-generational family of artists and designers, Wu has developed a deep appreciation for both culture and nature--and the intersection of the two. This has strengthened over the course of his career as a landscape designer at OLIN. He has worked closely with the Landscape Architecture Foundation to photograph a variety of events, including the Summit of the New Landscape Declaration and the LAF Annual Benefit, and his work has been featured in Laurie Olin's books. Wu received his bachelor's and master's degrees in environmental design from Tsinghua University, and his M.L.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
