About the Piece
The surreal quiet in the wake of a terrible storm, a sublime beauty masking the terrible violence that was ripping the shores apart a short time ago. The sinking reality of what just came to pass, beginning to root itself deep within, ripping open a new chasm once occupied by stability and stasis. A new reality emerging from the debris, irreconcilable with all that was once familiar. Places once known, full of routine and seemingly immutable, are destabilized and forever altered. We look for the familiar in the new void, where we lived, loved, or imagined. Now filled with archaeological equations and the wreckage of pieces and memories to be reassembled into something new and forever different.
