Charlotte 49ers Hat Auction

On April 30, 2019, the Charlotte community was rocked when a gunman opened fire in a classroom on UNC Charlotte's campus, less than ten miles from BB&T Ballpark. During the incident, two students were killed and another four were injured. In the wake of the tragedy, businesses, teams, individuals and many others have rallied together to stand in solidarity with the entire UNCC community to show that we are ALL Charlotte Strong.

Starting on July fourth and ending on Tuesday, July ninth, the Charlotte Knights will be hosting an online auction featuring the autographed 49er green hats that were worn by Charlotte Knights players during our game on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 following the shooting. All proceeds from the 49ers Hat Auction will directly benefit Niner Nation Unites, which was established in response to the overwhelming desire to wrap around UNC Charlotte during this time. All funds will support the needs of the victims and their families.

The Charlotte Knights 49er themed hat auction will be a six-day fundraising campaign to honor Riley Howell and Ellis "Reed" Parlier - the two young men who lost their lives that day in April - and all the other victims who have suffered both visible and unseen injuries since then.
