A Week in the South of France

Would you and your family and friends like to practice French in a wine growing village just
minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea?

The home lies in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon (the region's wines have been featured in the Wine Spectator and the Wall Street Journal). The quiet village is a good base for a relaxed
vacation in southwest France or you can stay busy visiting the many historic sites nearby.
Armissan is located about an hour west of Montpellier, 30 minutes southeast of the medieval city of Carcassonne and about 2 1/2 hours east from Barcelona, Spain. Near-by Narbonne is on the Canal de la Robine and has regular train service to Paris, Avignon, Barcelona and other cities throughout the region. Narbonne is also the site of the most renowned cathedral in the south of
France as well as fine restaurants and shopping.

Your residence is an old stone barn near the town center. The ground level is open and offers
ample parking. Stairs lead up to the comfortable living quarters for 6-8 people, with a great
room, a huge fire place and French doors to a large terrace (with both gas and wood grills)
overlooking the vineyards and foothills. Also off the great room are a newly renovated kitchen
with a counter and bar stools; a pleasant dining nook and table; a large en-suite bedroom with
French doors to the main terrace; a private bedroom with a double bed; a full bath; a water closet and a separate new tiled shower and sink.
Stairs on both sides of the great room lead to bedroom lofts. One has a private terrace with a
double bed and an even higher view of the village and surroundings. The other has twin beds and
a double bed. There is no phone in the house but there is wi-fi.

The house is a few steps away from the town center of Armissan with its ancient church. The
butcher and the baker, open every morning for your croissant pleasure, are steps away from the
front gate. Ten or 15 minutes away by car,

Narbonne features an array of good shops plus an
"absolutely delightful" market (open every day of the year) with the freshest of seafood, meats,
cheese and produce. There are many fine restaurants in Narbonne and the region.

All this is yours for a week at a time agreed to with the owner over the next 18 months.
