Two Spots on a Lower River Raft Trip

You will start just below the Boulevard bridge section of the James River Park System in a beautiful urban forest. Then you'll turn the corner at Belle Isle to see the Richmond skyline laid out in front of you...and it's time to conquer the Class III-IV Lower section of the mighty James River through downtown!

You'll stop at the halfway point to enjoy some snacks and hydrate while taking in the urban whitewater views. There will be plenty of time for swimming and staying cool before you takeout at the bottom of historic Shockoe Slip, having run the best (and biggest) rapids of downtown Richmond! Then it's back to the Riverside Outfitters shop for a beverage and some front porch sittin'. Exact trip duration will depend on water level and speed of current...you will be on the water for approx. 2-3 hours.

Rafters must be at least 10 years old (with parent or guardian) and confident swimming in moving water. Minimum age might vary by water level land other conditions. Expires Oct. 31, 2021.
