Part class, part cocktail party - learn the stories and mixology of drinks that help build Spokane and the Northwest. This hand=on mixology event will cover the rise of American whiskey and westward expansion, early-drinking and distilling traditions in the Pacific Northwest, and the first "golden age" of American cocktails. You will learn how to make classic cocktails, using vintage barware in a stunning historic home. Heavy appetizers are included.

Presenter Biography: Renee Cebula is a cocktail historian. A history educator for over 20 years, Cebula and her company Raising the Barr: Stories in a Glass, connect people to history through interactive cocktail-themed classes, writing, and unique shopping experiences. She is a speaker at McMenamin's History Pub talks around the northwest and has a column in Artisan Spirit Magazine.

Historic Setting: Thee Reid House was built in 1899-1900 and designed by prominent Spokane architect, Albert Held. The home is Spokane's earliest example of Bungalow architecture and is based on colonial bungalow architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries. The house has been in continuous use as a single-family residence for 120 years. Enjoy a tour of the Reid House between mixology lesions and cocktails.
