About the author

Gillian Walnes Perry, MBE, has been involved with the network of Anne Frank organizations for many years. Founding the Anne Frank Trust UK in 1990 along with family and friends of Anne's father, Otto Frank, she grew the organization to oversee a team of team of 35 people educating over 40,000 young people a year in some of Britain's most economically deprived and socially divided areas. During her years leading the organization, Ms. Perry oversaw the introduction of national Anne Frank Day; the Anne Frank Declaration, signed by world leaders and major celebrities; and the national Anne Frank Tree planting program.

Since retiring in 2016, Ms. Perry travels the world delivering lectures on the life and times of Anne Frank plus a range of popular and engaging social history topics. She also advises individuals and organizations on their humanitarian, educational and fundraising initiatives - a role she approaches with ease and grace as the distinguished Community Outreach Ambassador for the Anne Frank Center USA.
