Savourez ce sirop d'érable ! Take home 2 bottles of homemade maple syrup in box
This maple syrup was handcrafted by Alliance Française Board member/student, Karen Zentner Bacig, and her husband, Ed Bacig, in March 2019.
Starting in 2016, Karen and Ed decided to try their hand at tapping a few of their maple trees on the property at their cabin outside of Hayward, Wisconsin and making maple syrup. After a bit of research, they tapped 20 maple trees and over the course of a weekend garnered 40 gallons of syrup, yielding just about one gallon of delicious maple syrup. It takes 40 gallons of sap to produce one gallon of syrup. After that first year, they were hooked! Each year has brought more research, more learning, more equipment, more trees tapped and more syrup!
We learned how much fun, and how much work, maple syruping or sugar bushing, as some call it, is! This year almost 100 maple trees were tapped and over the course of two weeks in March 2019 about 345 gallons of sap yielded just over eight and a half gallons of liquid gold. You could be the lucky person to take home two bottles of this delicious maple syrup. We think it is the best syrup we've made yet! ENJOY! Karen & Ed Bacig
Value: Priceless!!
