Troy and Heather Downing, parents of MSU Senior Sarah Schoenfeld, offer you a chance to be a fighter pilot for a day in an Aero Vodochody L-39 "Albatross". The Albatross is a light air to ground jet fighter plane and trainer which has a max speed of Mach .85 (about 540 mph) and can maneuver at up to 8 positive Gs and 4 negative Gs.It is powered by an Ivchenko turbofan jet engine that produces up to 3,800 pounds of thrust. This airplane was built
in Czechoslovakia and flown in Russia.
Your flight will start with 1-2 hours of ground school where we will cover emergency egress, use of ejection seats, and straining techniques used to counter the effects of high-G maneuvers.
The flight will last approximately 45-60 minutes and will include whatever type of flight profile you're looking for. This can be a simple tour, a fast low-level strafing run, or over the top aerobatics.
The flight will be catered to the individual with an emphasis on having fun. You will even have an opportunity to fly the airplane if you desire.
The Flight will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time in Bozeman, Montana prior to October 31, 2020. All flights are weather, pilot, and safety dependent.
