Magulilwa Area Secondary School has been educating young people in this rural village in the southern highlands region of Tanzania for 15 years. The regional capital of Iringa is about an hour away, and the port of Dar es Salaam is over 300 miles to the east. MASS is a community-based boarding school, offering 24 scholarships to village students each year, and welcoming students from neighboring villages and cities all across the region. Current enrollment is 220. It is currently ranked as one of the top 10 out of 130 secondary schools in Tanzania. With the support of Change It Forward Tanzania (CIFFT) Foundation, the school has grown from two repurposed village buildings to include a science lab, a computer lab, dining hall, library, classroom block, administrative center, secure girls' dormitory, a boys' dormitory with dedicated toilets, and upgraded teacher housing.

The 2019 Change It Forward Tanzania Gala, themed "Brick by Brick," has a goal of taking Magulilwa Area Secondary School a giant step forward with a pumping system which will bring water into all campus buildings. Funds raised will also provide student scholarships, textbooks, and upgraded teacher housing. The gala is the major source of annual funding for the foundation, and hopes to raise $75,000 to support all of these projects.
