Mezzo soprano Laura Mercado-Wright has ben lauded by the New York Times as "superb," "dramatically astute," and "stunningly agile." She performs and records regularly with Conspirare, and has appeared with Seraphic Fire, Ensemble Signal, LA's Southwest Chamber Music, as well as the MET Chamber Orchestra in her Carnegie Hall solo debut. Ms. Mercado-Wright has been featured soloist with the symphony orchestras of Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin, TX. She recently performed the role of Desiree Armfeldt in Sondheim's A Little Night Music with Alamo City Opera. Upcoming engagements include the national tour of Considering Matthew Shepard with Conspirare. Laura is a native of San Antonio, TX and received degrees from the University of North Texas (B.M.) and the University of Maryland Opera Studio (M.M.).
