Design comes to life as we learn how Amsterdam solves problems through design. Apply that newfound knowledge to real challenges facing Boston, MA and Portland, OR by talking with city officials, local experts, entrepreneurs, and designers. At the end of the trip we'll engage in an urban challenge, using what we have learned throughout the trip as an inspiration to shape the future of our cities.

Trip Highlights:

- Amsterdam, Leiden (the birthplace of Rembrandt), Delft (Delft blue china & the birthplace of Vermeer), and Haarlem
- Tour the Hague for an interactive session with officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
- Visit a sustainable farm in Westland, where they use advanced technology & innovation (advanced climate control systems, geothermal energy, LED lighting) to grow crops without relying on soil, pesticides or water.
- Explore Houthaven, the first large-scale climate-neutral neighborhood in Amsterdam
- Experience Amsterdam North, a "living lab" for circular, smart and bio-based development; Learn how the smart grid "energy-cooperative" that uses blockchain currency to exchange excess energy between neighborhoods was built.
- "This is Holland" 5D flight experience about the history of the Netherlands and its relationship with water.
- Free admission to all the museums in the Netherlands, including: the Canal House Museum, Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt house, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, Stedelijk, and Moco Museum.
