"Teacher, coach, mentor, brewer"
You and up to three guests will join Landon teacher, Mr. Jamie Sorge, for a stirring Saturday night. You'll sample various styles of beer, discuss its storied history and consider its current social importance, all while brewing a five gallon batch of homebrew! Choose from making an IPA or a hefeweizen; pore over the variety of seasonal ales, porters, and stouts until a recipe speaks your language; the choice is yours! As your consultant, chef, and beer baron, Mr. Sorge will walk you through the proper steps on how to create, perhaps, the greatest invention humans have ever contributed to the modern world. All participants must be 21 or over.
A few weeks later, once fermentation has ended and the bottling process is complete, Mr. Sorge will deliver your share of the beer so you can proudly enjoy it at your leisure, proclaiming that, yes, YOU HAVE MADE BEER!
Mr. Sorge has taught English in Landon's Middle School for five years and has been an amateur home-brewer for four. Several faculty members have tasted his homemade beer and some have even brewed with him. Mr. Sorge's favorite local brewery is Astro Lab and his favorite beer is the one in his hand. He has three kids under the age of seven, an amazing wife who keeps him out of trouble, and lives in Silver Spring.
