A collection of 5 great Cabernet Sauvignons!
- Laird Family Estate, 2013 Flat Rock Cabernet Sauvignon. Softer than the Mast Ranch, with sweet tannin, dense purple color, plenty of creme de cassis, blackberry and blueberry. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it for the next two decades. 93 points.
-2014 Foxen 7200 Cabernet Sauvignon Vogelzang Vineyard. Lots of rich, ripe fruit in this Cabernet, which comes from the Happy Canyon area of the warmer eastern part of Napa valley. 90 points.
-2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon "Palermo" by Orin Switft Cellars. Deep and luring aromas of raspberry and ripe cherry intertwine with accents of star anise, five spice and black tea. The entry is smooth with cassis and blackberry. The wine finishes with reverberating length. 91 points.
-Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet, 2015. Blending fruit from estate vineyards and top Napa growers, this wine embodies the complexity of the valley, while offering a seamless balance between fruit, oak and tannins. 92 points.
-Venge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Silencieux 2015. This wine is made for lovers of Napa Valley Cab! The wine starts out large before settling down into a work of art. 93 points.
