(excerpt from a poem on back of picture)
O
the moon.
Look
how it laps
at its own edges
like a clear blue lake,
a vowel in the dark,
a bowl of white soup
leftover and getting cold,
shining on the stoop
where Jittoku put it
for the stray
kittens.
