Connie Millard College Counseling - Four (4) Hour College Counseling Package - Value $400
Connie Millard is an independent college counselor. She works with a small number of families to inform, help organize, and personalize the college admissions process. Connie believes in a team approach, engaging both students and parents in a clear step-by-step process that can be both exciting and fun! She empowers her students to confidently take the lead in their college search, ultimately discovering colleges that are a good academic, social, and financial fit. Connie helps her students frame their college search, beyond the ratings and rankings, by injecting perspective through personalized student assessment and research. From application to acceptance, Connie works closely with each student to ensure a successful outcome.
Services may include:
· Working with families early in the student's high school career to plan a challenging, interesting, and enjoyable high school experience
· Developing a customized list of colleges tailored to the student's academic profile, extracurricular interests, possible majors, personality, and career goals
· Reviewing, evaluating, and giving feedback on college application essays and entries in the extracurricular activity section of the Common Application
· Planning and coordinating college visits
· Coaching and preparing students for college interviews
· Helping students choose the best college fit once acceptances are received
ABOUT: Connie Millard, MA received her certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. She holds a Masters Degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Michael's College where she majored in political science. Prior to discovering her passion for college counseling, Connie had successful careers as both a freelance grant writer and project manager at a Boston-based consulting firm. Beginning in 2016, she received annual grant funding to create and lead programming to enhance and support the college-going culture at Ipswich High School (Ipswich, MA). Connie also volunteers for The Matchlighters Scholarship program which connects college counselors and low-income, high-achieving students from around the world, delivering college admissions help to those who need it most. In order to assist her in finding the right college matches for each student, Connie travels extensively, annually attending professional conferences and visiting college campuses across the United States. She has developed collegial and collaborative relationships with counselors throughout the nation. Connie is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and regional affiliate New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC).
