This remarkable Linden tree in Prospect Park looks like it grew muscles as it aged. They can live many years and develop wild characteristics.

Artist bio:

Artist Janet Morgan has painted all over the world, from Kyrgyzstan to Antarctica - landscapes from low desert to high mountains. She has created, in large watercolors a pantheon of 200 deities, a series of Wild Women and her latest work on the Body's Energy. For 18 years she was an Expressive Arts Therapist with adult cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Ketttering Cancer Center. She has taught at the Rubin Museum of Art, the Art Students League and the Omega Institute. She has been artist-in-residence Death Valley National Park, Weir Farm National Historic Site in Connecticut, the Babayan Cultural Center in Cappadocia, Turkey and Hanksville Elementary School in Hanksville, Utah. She completed a public art commission for an Early Childhood Center in Queens, New York, made of ceramic reliefs on a circus theme. Her large paintings have been featured on stage at the Omega's 2004 Women and Power Conference in New York City, at Burning Man and in many theatrical productions.
