Louis Armstrong's classic 1967 recording "What a Wonderful World" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. Since learning this famous tune for our Fall Singing Program, Rebecca's class has enjoyed crooning on "friends shaking hands" all year long. We worked together to bring Louis's "trees of green, red roses too," and all the "colors of the rainbow" to life with handprints on our repurposed book nook project.
The Afternooners collaborated to embroider a rainbow scene on a small pillow, making the book nook a cozy place for your budding reader to dive into a collection of books donated by classmates. They'll learn much more than we'll ever know!
Winner can have it personalized, if desired, following which the shelf will be sealed to protect it for many years to come.
Special thanks to Tim Fleeman and Sierra Morgan.
