A Dave Henrickson Original!

Dave is a local painter from Northern Minnesota and a beloved former hockey player from the Miracle on Ice Hockey Team.

Message from RMS teacher Jan Hendrickson:

My dad, Dave Hendrickson, would easily refer to himself as many things like dad, teacher, and coach, but not necessarily an artist. From his humble beginnings playing boot hockey on Summit Street in Eveleth, MN to ice rinks across the country, he continues to share his stories. For most of my life, I watched him paint in his "studios" - the basement bench, the kitchen, or the dock at Birch Lake, and his raw, untrained talent still amazes me. My home is a gallery of original watercolors and acrylics that show landscapes and scenery through my dad's eyes. Through his artwork, I feel his passion for life. For about seven years, though, his artistic light flickered out as we experienced loss and grief, and his brushes and paints dried out. But about 1 ½ years ago, my dad called me and said, "Honey, I think I'll try painting again," and I felt my heart swell with joy. His light had returned! He picked up his brushes, set up his easel, and the 84-year-old artist began to share his stories on canvas once again.
