8th Season

"So excited for the 40th anniversary season!! Can't believe this is my eighth season with BA! It's been great making Little Rock home!"

Toby Lewellen is originally from Peoria, Illinois, where he began his serious dance training with Peoria Ballet under the direction of Mary Price Boday, Erich Yetter, and Rebekah Von Rathonyi. He then attended Butler University. There he performed lead roles in Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Sir Antony Tudor's Dark Elegies. Toby is returning for his eighth season with Ballet Arkansas. There he has performed in lead roles in Agnes DeMille's The Other Pas de Deux, Christopher Wheeldon's The American Pas de Deux, George Balanchine's Who Cares?, Harrison McEldowney's Group Therapy, Johnny Cash in Chris Stuart's Under the Light's, Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias Pas de Deux, Illya Kozadayev's (e)Motions, Memory Haus, Obscura, and Bolero by Kiyon Gaines, Mobile by Tomm Ruud, as well as being The Nutcracker Prince and Snow King in Ballet Arkansas' The Nutcracker. He has spent his summers on staff at the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia as well as teaching at Ballet Arkansas Summer Intensives. Toby also teaches ballet at multiple studios in the Little Rock area.
