Mathew Larson
1st Season

"The thing I'm most looking forward to this season is working on Dracula. It's always exciting to be a part of a world premiere where the choreography is brand new and you have the opportunity to explore and create a role that's never been done in this specific way before."

Matthew Larson is originally from Minnetonka, Minnesota. He began his training at Hopkins Dance Center under the direction of Leslie Daly. After high school, he studied ballet and Limón technique at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. There he had the opportunity to perform classical roles including the Jester and Beno in Swan Lake, the Flames of Paris Pas de Deux, and Raymonda Pas de Dix. He also performed contemporary works by Judith Mikita, Michael Bearden, and Anthony Krutzkamp. In 2015, he had the opportunity to spend a few months studying ballet, modern, and choreography at the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy in China. He then spent two years in the Milwaukee Ballet II program where he performed in "Ruach" by Garrett Glassman, "(A)mori)" by Mimmo Miccolis, and "Candide" by Michael Pink, as well as multiple company works including La Sylphide, the Nutcracker, and Beauty and the Beast.
