Deanna Gerde
Apprentice, 2nd Season
"I am thrilled to be celebrating the 40th anniversary season with a wonderful group of dancers and exciting new repertoire!"
Deanna is originally from Syracuse, New York where she began her ballet training at the Syracuse School of Dance. In 2013, she joined the Joffrey Ballet School as a trainee and studied there until the summer of 2016, with training from Era Jouravalev, Francesca Corkle, Marina Bogdonova, and more. She performed many works there such as excerpts of Coppelia, choreography by Kevin Wynn, Brian McSween, and Matthew Prescott, as well as Viva Vivaldi by Gerald Arpino, excerpts of Un Jour by Merce Cunningham, and the Lilac Fairy in their production of Sleeping Beauty: Prologue. Deanna has danced as a company artist with Ballet Inc. under the direction of Aaron Atkins, performing at the Hudson Guild Theater in NYC, and in 2017 trained in the professional summer program at Atlanta Ballet. She is excited to be with Ballet Arkansas for her second season.
