Meredith Short Loy, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, received her early training under the direction of Rebecca Miller Stalcup and Melinda Tobian at the Arkansas Academy of Dance and Arkansas Festival Ballet. Meredith is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in ballet performance from the School of Dance led by Mary Margaret Holt. With Ballet Arkansas her most recent roles include; George Balanchine's "Valse Fantaisie" staged by Michele Gifford, The Sugar Plum Fairy in "The Nutcracker", Mariana Oliveira's "Stabat Mater", Agnes de Mille's "The Other" staged by Diana Gonzalez, and Christopher Wheeldon's "the American" staged by Michele Gifford. Meredith is in her 4th season with Ballet Arkansas and is honored to continue her professional career dancing in her home state.
