A trio of French wines to sample. Jean Collet Cuvee Delphine 2016 Vin De France, Chateau Bearegard Pomerol 2010 & Chateu Patache D'Aux 2010 Medoc Grand Vin De Bordeaux. Chateau Bearegard Pomerol 2010 - This dark red colored Merlot based wine from Pomerol is still around and is drinking very nicely right now. It opens with a new leather and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar with notes of black cherry and chocolate. I also detected hints of plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger and last for a while. This very nice wine from Bordeaux would pair nicely with sauteed veal medallions with sage and mushrooms. Chateu Patache D'Aux 2010 Medoc Grand Vin De Bordeaux- Easy drinking quaffer, with black cherries and licorice, round textures and a spicy, black cherry and herb finish.
