Throw a Bag towards a Better Education!

Join the James R. Jordan Foundation for an evening of festivities all while helping kids and families in under-served communities. The night will entail a bags tournament, all you can eat food and drinks, silent auction, and interactive stations and activities. Be a part of the impact and throw a bag towards better education! Through your generous donations, students will be able to reach their full potential and become successful contributors to society.

Grand Prize Winners

The grand prize winners, both Corporate and individual teams, will each get their own custom made cornhole/bags board set with the James R. Jordan Foundation logo. They will also have their photo taken together, which will then be placed with their name on a plaque. The plaques will be placed on a wall of the downtown Chicago Michael Jordan's Steak House. These plaques will remain on the wall every year and after each annual tournament, new plaques will be added to the wall. Each individual team winner will receive a $100 gift card to the Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, and each member of the winning Corporate Team will receive a $25 gift card to Dick's Last Resort. Both of the gift cards will be available to use one week after the event.

WHAT DOES THE JAMES R. JORDAN FOUNDATION DO?

JRJF provides a pathway out of poverty by empowering children to achieve their full potential and by leveling the playing field so they can become successful human beings and productive contributors to society. We do this by creating networks of support for families and communities, motivating youth, and ensuring high-quality academic opportunities for youth in under-served communities.

WHO DOES JRJF SERVE?

The Foundation serves over 1,800 youth and 350 families annually from Chicago's West Haven, Englewood and Rogers Park communities through our innovative and exemplary programs including Read with Me!, A-Team Scholars, Vision for Families, and S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). Descriptions of these programs can be found here.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES...

As you can imagine, the need is immense. We rely on partnerships and donations to make these programs possible. Funds are used to provide programs for youth and families in under-resourced communities where there is an average of 97% low-income families. JRJF has a strong fiscal management system which ensures that more than 85% of your dollars are spent to support these programs.

Parking

The Palmer House is located in the heart of downtown Chicago, so please allow for travel time. It is located right off the State/Monroe Redline stop. There is a discounted rate of $22 for the self-park garage across the street at 55 E Monroe. Valet parking on Monroe is available for $32.
