Jimmy Chin wears many hats-climber, skier, film maker-but he is perhaps best known for his stunning photography. His achievements include climbing and skiing Mount Everest from the summit, making first ascents of big walls and alpine towers in the Karakoram Mountains of Pakistan and the Garwhal Himalayas of Northern India, and crossing the Chang Tang Plateau in north-western Tibet on foot.

Both in front of and behind the camera, he has been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic, Outside and Men's Journal. He directed, along with his wife, Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, the documentary film Free Solo, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2019.

This striking black and white photo is of Sherpas shuttling loads on the Western Cwm of Mt. Everest on one of Jimmy's many trips to the iconic region.
