A Fox River Testimony is, in the words of artist and author Joel Sheesley, his attempt to "respond through art to the beauty of this river." As Artist-In-Residence for The Conservation Foundation's Fox River Initiative, Joel spent two years travelling up and down the Fox River from Dundee to Ottawa, capturing this dynamic waterway on canvas in all of its moods, meanders and seasons and journaling with a refreshing honesty about the river's effects on him, the musings and even epiphanies it provoked. Within these 160 pages you will find the 73 original paintings that were the results of Joel's Fox River adventures, as well as his insightful, reverent and reflective writings. As you enter its current, A Fox River Testimony will take you on a journey of discovery, of questioning, of belonging and of beauty, helping you see and even feel the Fox River more deeply. It is the shared hope of The Conservation Foundation and artist and author Joel Sheesley that this increased connection will move you to care for and enjoy the Fox River more deeply as well. A Fox River Testimony is a softcover volume measuring 9" x 12".
