Anointed the "dean of American cookery" by the New York Times in 1954, James Beard was a pioneer foodie who changed the way we eat. After an illustrious career, James Beard died in 1985 and his friends and colleagues heeded a call from Julia Child to do something with Beard's house.
While he was alive, Beard always welcomed students, authors, chefs and other food and beverage professionals into his home - his kitchen was truly at the heart of America's burgeoning 20th century food scene. And now YOU are welcomed to the James Beard House to experience a true culinary masterpiece.
Sit back and relax as a chauffeured car delivers you to the Beard House. Upon arrival you will enjoy an elegant cocktail hour with hors d' oeuvres followed by a 5-course dinner paired with wine and prepared by one of the nation's top chefs. Your taste buds will delight with every bite. Diners get the pleasure of meeting the chef!
As the evening comes to a close, a chauffeured car will take you back home.
